If you've never been to the U.S. Forest Service sponsored Kokanee Festival this is one event that should be placed on your calendar. This festival is in conjunction with the annual Kokanee spawning activities that take place in Taylor Creek the first weekend of October annually.

The U.S. Forest Service Information Center is a hub of activity with many booths explaining not only Kokanee habits but other wildlife as well. A paved path through the meadows and marsh lands allows all visitors, young and old, to enjoy this beautiful setting that winds down to Taylor Creek to see nature at her best. The striking colors of the Kokanee and the number of fish is an amazing sight. CIFFI has an educational booth and a Youth "make a lure" booth.
