The 8^th Annual Collins Lake Family Fun Trout Fishing Derby took place on Saturday, April 28^th.  The day was cool and breezy, but that didn’t stop 65 adult and 20 youth anglers from participating in the derby and enjoying a barbecue chicken lunch provided by Buckhorn Grill. All participants also received a coupon for a free scoop of ice cream compliments of Collins Lake Resort.

Each angler was allowed to weigh in a total of two fish. Monetary prizes were awarded to the top 15 adult finishers, with $300 awarded for 1^st place. The top 4 youth anglers received medals and gift cards with the winning youth also receiving a fishing rod and reel donated by Dale Daneman of Dale’s Foothill Fishing.

There were two side pots, big fish and blind bogey, available for an additional entry fee. Side pot winners split the cash proceeds with CIFFI (50/50). The winner of the Blind Bogey missed the target weight by a mere .09 oz. with 3 others at .11oz.
