Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 – PROJECT EAGLE LAKE TROUT – The Third Annual old-fashioned “July 4th Americana” was held at the Eagle Lake RV Park & Store, Spalding Tract.  More than 400 folks participated in horseshoe tournaments, casting contests and fun.  The free kids raffle, for kids 12 and under, had 94 participants, almost doubled from last year.  Traditional July 4th BBQ with hot dogs, hamburgers, chips & all the trimmings, was followed by a fabulous dessert of strawberry/blueberry shortcake.  Local guides displayed their boats and were on hand, talking fishing.  The huge raffle, plus the auction, raised funds to continue the efforts to maintain great fishing, and safety, at Eagle Lake.
