Saturday, August 30, 2014 - The Sixth Annual CALIFORNIA INLAND FISHERIES FOUNDATION, INC./Project Eagle Lake Trout Family Fun Fall Fundraising Festival was held at Arnold’s Eagle Lake RV Park & Store, Spalding Tract, Susanville.

The size of the crowd continues to grow each year, probably because participants anticipate an enjoyable day in the Park and they’re inviting friends and relatives!

Great barbecue, served by the Arnold family and volunteers, is a highlight, and the various activities keep everyone entertained.  The new Wine-O-Plinko game, led by locals Gary and Judy Davis, is a whole lot of fun!  Amber Verdusco monitors the kid’s casting contest, the free kids raffle provides a prize for every child and the huge CIFFI raffle is well supported by the adults.  A special Volunteers of the Year 2014 plaque was presented to Cliff and Shirley Spediacci.  The weather was great and money continues to be raised to enhance the fishing experience and safety at Eagle Lake!

This event was the second of the two fundraisers held at Eagle Lake each year.  Put July 4th on your calendar for 2015!  If you missed 2014, you might consider next year…a good time is held by all.  Monies raised enable PELT, under the direction of the Spalding Community “Steering Committee” to support management efforts of the California Dept. of Fish & Wildlife at this “Heritage Lake”.   CIFFI, a 501 C3 non-profit foundation, provides administrative support.

CIFFI/PELT thanks all who participated in the events on July 4th and Labor Day weekends.  There will definitely be a repeat next year so make a note…and take part.  Your attendance will be appreciated and your participation goes to a very worthy cause!  For more info – www.ciffi.org .
